Abbotsbury Swannery

Around the Swannery

Only one in the world

With over 600 Mute Swans living together at Abbotsbury, this colony of a single species of swans is unique and the only one in the world. The Mute Swans are free flying walk freely around the site. There are two main walks to see the swans, which includes many features from the Swannery history and the Fleet Lagoon.

Mass daily swan feeds

There are daily mass swan feeds at midday and 4pm that visitors can join in. The Swannery team arrive with wheelbarrows, scoops and ask for willing volunteer visitors to help feeds the swans. A special and unique experience a must-do for any visit to the Swannery. The feed is accompanied by a commentary with more information about the Mute Swans.
