Why Swans Love The Fleet: Lagoon Life Explained

Swans have been nesting at Abbotsbury since at least the 14th century, and possibly as early as the 11th century when Benedictine monks first managed the site. The natural shelter of the Fleet Lagoon makes it an ideal location for the swans to return each year.
